Catharsis

There’s no one else near me
All I can do is cry out to You, You hear me
A cathartic release of all this pain I’m feeling
All the days of my life, it’s got me screaming
I’m scared, I hurt, I’m alone
But I know You’re near me, only You are near me

This pain is too much for my weary shoulders to bear
I’ve fought the urge to give up for far too long
I cry out to You, oh God
And I know, yes, I know You do hear me
That does not help me, like they say it does
All these Christians are bogging me down
With their discouragements and foggy salvation theologies
I feel alone in this world
I feel isolated, like an orphan left for dead
Stranded on the side of a road in a blizzard
I feel an alien kind of fear
I am drowning under the weights
Of expectations, fears of the future, anxieties, and pain
I feel the darkness dragging me in
My body is uncomfortable to live through
I don’t want to exist in such a way as this
I don’t like this world, no, I’m too scared, all the time
I’m in so much pain, I just need to cry
