Killing Me
I go to church every week but
I just mutter the words on screen
I don’t know what I believe today
Some days it all makes sense
Other days it feels foolish
Does anybody feel this way?
I’m just trying to fit in well
I pray to God I don’t see hell
By wearing this mask every week
Some day I want to know how
To believe and let doubt go
But these questions keep asking me
Do I need to believe to be living?
Do I need to believe to be good?
Do I need to believe everything to have a decent life?

Often makes me feel alone
Are my eyes just to blind to see
I’ve believed as hard as I could
Ask the questioned and studied the books
But honesty is plaguing me
I suppose that I’ll never know anything for sure
But I'm too scared to believe in nothing
Do I need to believe to be living?
Do I need to believe to be good?
Do I need to believe everything to have a decent life?
