Life ain't never been no 7-up, no red velvet
It was never guaranteed to be a piece of pound cake
No bunt, but it'll show, kick you like a punt, baby, life
Life was never meant to be easy

From the wealthiest to the poor, healthy or sick, life is no respect of persons anybody
can get it, and equally do
So never compare struggles, just weather the storms given to you
It can sometimes feel overwhelming, feel like you're drowning in a sea of woe is me, but

tribulations test tenacity
They stretch you like elasticity, testing endurance and durability, making you prove
just what you're made of
So flex on that thing

Dig deep and heal, introspect on that thing
See, evolution and perspective go hand in hand
If you practice meditation, then over time you'll understand that the answers you seek
are to be found within

But that doesn't mean it can't be great

Commit to always getting back up again

A compliment, smile, or wave can be the icing on the cake that saves the life of someone
who was about to throw it all away
A little love and kindness goes a long way

See, I wish every day could be a birthday cake
Now make no mistake, majority of your days will be fruitcake sweet
But even on the dry days, be sponge cake and absorb what life is trying to teach
Adversity is the oven that bakes you
So the way I see it, you got two choices

You can either rise to the occasion, sharing pieces of what you've grown through
Or fall, staying underbaked because the kitchen got too hot for you
Yeah, it's true, you'll never be able to have your cake and eat it too
But in whatever you go through, here's a perspective shift for you

Always affirm that life is not happening to you, but for you
