Painter Blue
[Verse 1]
Porchlight’s on, someone’s home
Shadows behind windows
What lies behind these doors
She does watercolors and he paints cars
[Verse 2]
One day she drove out of town
Drove the car straight and true
Went as far east as she could get
Figured by then, she’d know what to do
[Verse 3]
When she got to the waters edge
Thought about where she’d been
Wondered what was left to see
Stepped right up and dove right in
[Verse 4]
She was never seen on land again
They say she lives in the sea instead
Happy in its blue embrace
Just like the colors she used to paint
