January Sounds
Let's play too cool
All the tricks we’ve learned in school
A handpicked gift from god to you
Say there's no more judgement now
As you laugh off the past year round
We all picked up pen & paper just to throw it away
And I guess our differences will always stay the same
And I'm not the one to stay bitter
But I’m not getting any better
Everybody talks
Everybody talks
But no one wants to listen
Nine years now we're leaving
January sounds
Cold breeze and windows down
Pictures he took
The roads we chose
The tolls we fought
And I'll keep running around with my head glued to the ground
I can't seem to find what's worth feeling
(I'll run, you'll run)
Those nights we drove through these towns to rest safe and sound
The comfort of those floors sounds too appealing
We all picked up pen & paper just to throw it away
And I guess our differences will always stay the same
And I'm not the one to stay bitter
But I’m not getting any better
Everybody talks
Everybody talks
But no one wants to listen
