Free

I'll admit it was unfair
Or so it seemed to me
I don't think I was aware
Of my state of being

"When most people think about being free
They think about being financially free
But when I think about freedom
I think about it as a mentality, a way of being
And so if you're truly free, I think that transcends all conditions"

It's time to change my frame of mind
No shame in owning my lies
I can't explain, it's strange that I've
Never felt so good my life

I gotta do some introspective thinking for me
Reflecting on all of the lessons I couldn't see
Now I'm writing out lines to clean the old me that's dead in my mind

I hope to be free (I open my mind)
Now I'm free (I'm no longer blind)
Constraints have been lifted and I'm shifting with clarity
Now I'm moving on to manifest my own destiny
Cause I'm free to be me (be free)

About time I learned my lesson
That everything's a blessing in the worst mistakes in my life
It can be an opportunity, no impunity for me
The strife is good on my mind
If there ain't pain, ain't no gain, is the saying
We've heard it all
And the seasons can't change without rain
You gotta fall
I have to close my eyes and dream it, speak it, will it over time
