Hosanna

Tom Baxter

Jonah was a boy from the bad lands,
the wrong side of the track.
He was born into trouble,
wasn't lucky like you and me.
Running from the hands of the heart- less
with his home tied to his back,
he didn't know who he was or who he wanted to be.

So he cried for an angel, cried for and angel,
""Please lord send someone to deliver me.""
Now he's lying in the road to surrender
with these last words on his lips,
He held his hands to the skyin the dead of night.
""How could you forget me?
How sweet it tastes when I say your name!
Why would you forsake me?
Don't you hear my Hosanna?""

Helena was awoken from her bad dream by the tolling of the bell,
She saw a young man dying in the dead of night.
Lying in the dirt and the darkness, she cradled him in light.
She put her hand on her heartas she promised him...
""How could I forget you?How sweet it tastes when I say your name!
Why would I forsake you now I hear Your Hosanna?""

Do you remember how I lost myself that night?
For all I ever was I only wanted to forget,
But you saw who I was meant to be and you knew what I could be for you,
And you could be for me.
