Phaethon
Young and eager
To taste adventure
The blood of gods in his heart
High and mighty,
A born offender
Who failed to master his art
A fiery spirit,
And soul like stone
Defiant child
On an aimless quest
Strong and willing
To face contenders
In the river Po,
They'll soon rest
His chariot burns in the sky
He knows not, he'll soon die
His chariot lights up the sky
He cares not, he'll soon die
He begged and pleaded his
Father, Phoebus
The god of light and heat
"Let me guide
The chariot of the sun
Let me feel the solar heat"
Jupiter hurls his lightning bolt
As Phaethon crosses the sky
From a distance Clymene
Stares in anguish
Hoping Phaethon
Once again will fly
