New Outfit

Driving around smoking pot with Dana and Mark
Olympic Auditorium Era, it was kind of a bummer
But somewhere between the 110 and Macarthur Park
I found a place where I could spend the rest of the summer

Killing time at the donut shop
Waiting for the cops to leave so we can go cop
Sometimes it’s pretty good but sometimes it can hurt
To get a bag of Nestle's quick or a handful of dirt

Get a new outfit, go downtown
Whistle me over to get a couple balloons
Crimson swirling amidst the brown
I think I need a bigger spoon
Once again at last, I’m getting down
But I’m getting burned out from the daily grind
How much longеr can I stick around
A good vein is getting hard to find

For the nеxt couple months and on into the fall
I thought I could stop if I drank a lot of beer
I found out way too late that it had me by the balls
And that things would stay that way for a number of years

Headed up to Union and Sixth
Sometimes I get busted for possession or tracks
No matter what I’ve got to get a fix
My life is dusted but I keep coming back

Spending lots of time on the county farm
I lead a life of doom
Sitting on the shitter with a needle in my arm
And finding paradise lost in a gas station bathroom
