The Lifeless State

Her violescent hair in the autumn afternoon blowing vigorously as the breeze became gusty
She stood upon a teak built bridge, her hands conjoined praying to Him
She could feel the Earth begin it's final descent, it's final warning
Distant tree limbs snapped, as if children at a playground had dislocated them
She watched the limbs hurl towards a family on a checkered blanket
She blinked, why are they still sitting?
This question remained hewn into her brain like a recently discovered treasure
The bridge below her feet began to crackle under the winds force as she quickly skittered to the eastern exit
The afterlife
That's where I am
She discovered
And the wind stopped
Why did He not take me in?
Am I to be fostered within this lifeless state?
