Someone Special

Cooked a dinner for 2 but its only me at the table
Crack open a bottle of my best wine
Say a prayer to the Lord cos at times for real i’m so grateful
Just wish I had somebody by my side
I go out shopping and buy myself
Presents so i can unwrap them
Cranberry mint candles on my shelf
Whole living room smell like incense
Bought a miniature tree
Cos I wanted today to feel special
I guess
I should just turn in early again tonight
The most beautiful time of the year has come again
I got family got friends
Why don’t i feel content
Want somebody special to love
No special someone to love
Wrote down my resolutions for the new year, hey
The dreams that I been chasing all my life near, hey
Life’s ok at the moment
But how much better would it be to have
Someone to share it with
Sightseeing on my own these city lights

I understand that it’s your birthday
Not trying to take away from that
