The Great Shining Light

Oh, come hear my story, 'twill brighten your way
On love's weary travel, oh hear what I say
Last night I was dreaming when an angel obliged
Came to me in a vision of a great shining light

Then the angel spoke softly as the great light did shine
Go tell all the people that now is the time
To have peace and be happy, there shall be no night
If you live true and faithful in the great shining light

In my dream then I traveled a rough stony road
'Twas the way to perdition, and heavy my load
When a sweet voice spoke softly, Take a turn to the right
You'll find it more cheerful in the great shining light

I awoke from my dreaming and started to pray
Thy will now shall guide me all life's rugged way
I'll tell all the people of the truth and thy might
