Waiting to Drown

I dreamed I walked along the riverbed
Burned up and barren, full of holes
I saw a flower try to lift its head
Before the sun would take its toll
The fragile flower was my soul

I walked until there came a confluence
That once beheld a mighty sea
And there I sifted through the evidence
That had become my destiny

And in this place
Where even truth cannot be found
Is where I lay my body down

So as I lie there in my riverbed
Until the sky went black and cold
I saw that flower try to lift his head
And for the rain his arms unfold

Trusting the rain to flood the ground
Thirsting for love... waiting to drown
