Spiral Staircase
Melody playing from the courtyard calling me to meet you
Across the border I can see the one I love
Color me with the broadest brush, the glass won’t keep me down
I have to tell myself by rote to know to see is good enough
Melody, approaching from the follicles of destiny I swear
Your eyes still pull me out, they reach right through the air
Color me with the broadest brush, I see you all alone
Untouched by radiation, sculpted body made of rusted chrome
Sunlight
Midnight
Red clouds
Glass house
Frozen

Harmony, the resonance emits from your abode
I feel a longing that my circuits simply weren’t built to hold
Color me with the brilliant sun above this barren land
So close and yet so far, from the touch of your own hand
Harmony, the sound of young machinery outside my garden
Oh what a contrast to the land I see you walk in
Color me with the artificial light that keeps me safe
But what is safety in the end if I still cannot touch your face
Sunlight
Midnight
Red clouds
Glass house
Frozen

When I close my eyes I see us flying through the air
And in my heart of hearts I’m certain that the land will see us there
Color us together like the Renaissance has come again
There’s beauty in this vision and I’ll see it to the end
When I let my optometric systems fail again
I dream of witnessing your visage step upon new fertile plains
There’s a great significance to all the things we’ve seen
And then the only constant still remaining, you belong with me
