Christmas Truth

There's a magic in the air
You can feel it everywhere
Sometimes I can't help but stare
At all the lights and all the prayer
But both of those only go up once a year
For way too many that's their cheer
But there's more to it I fear
Than just your corporeal sphere
I fear that all these people see this day
As nothing but a time to receive a gift
When this should be a time
When giving away a gift is our emotional lift
When we lay aside all of our shame
All of our blame see others the same
And all of us join in the way
Where we throw away all of the decay
That has been eating us alive
Draining us inside
That is why this time
Is the brightest time
Nothing can keep us down
When we hit the town
Like Bedford Falls and run around
It is a wonderful life and today we are all celebrating this thing
The birth of a certain baby made this true
Mary did you know that he'd be King
And now this day's getting me smiling
I carol in everyone's face
The singing the beauty the fellowship
Nothing that you can do will go erase
See we still here
And we don't fear
Nothing will steal out joy
And we still hear under the tree
All the kiddies unwrapping their toys
See this season will bring out their innocence
There is nothing more beautiful
That is why I encourage the magic in their eyes
And for me it's so dutiful
To remind all the kids that the gifts they receive
Are only half of what this about
It ain't just you better watch out
You better not cry
And you better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa's not the only coming to town
He ain't the only one bearing a crown
If you fancy yourself strong then turn a frown
But He isn't stopping and won't turn around
The Christmas colors flying red green and brown
The harpsichord lyre and trumpet will sound
Standing triumphant we will not back down
And all of this is just because of the day
When inherent innocence came here to stay
To stay and live a life beyond all our dreams
It's beyond conceivable glory it seems
Neglecting oneself and choose others above
See this is the spirit of Christmas and love
It is a choice that we all have to decide
To either embrace it or let it slip by
