Magi's Diary

Viliamutuilagi Partsch

Magi had a pen
And with it drew up worlds of fantasy
By the age of ten
She had a sense of worldly destiny
An empty book of life
Of which her colored pencils
Portrayed various adventures
Saving Kingdoms from despair and misery
Daddy helped her write
And showed her different ways to bring words life
Each and every night
The two would fill up pages left and right
And then the day arrived
When she'd showed her pages to some of her friends
They laughed and joked
Her tears awoke
As she swore never ever again
Magi's diary
Shares a list of more than memories
All her hopes and dreams
And daring Other-worldly fantasies
Magi learned of pain
A feeling she was sure would never die
And as she wrote that day
Daddy wondered why his daughter cried
In her summary
He saw what he knew comes for every
Little one at some point
When life's negativity is realized
As to silence her
He wrote a different ending than she knew
It inspired her
To see things from a different point of view
And so she grew again
And many years passed full of love and joy
Until sixteen, when on the scene appeared
A pretty little boy
Magi's diary
Holds a work of more than memories
Boys on TV screens
Teenage dreams and fashion magazines
Magi learned of love
Puppy love
But still love all the same
In those months to come
Her little book would see a sudden change
Walking hand in hand
She'd never see it coming
But that puppy love was running out of steam
The dream just couldn't be sustained
In her empty shell
Pages tore to match her Broken heart
Daddy tried to help
But from her book she bid him to depart
And in the years that came
Their duo stories all but fell astray
Then daddy passed away
Magi's diary
Holds within it more than memories
Prayers of misery
Tales of father's love and honesty
Magi learned of death
And just how quickly someone's world is gone
She was left bereft
Twenty-one without a proper home
Save for daddy's house
What once was bright and lively
Now seemed awfully terrifying
For the absence of the man it once belonged
In her father's wake
She found a book identical to hers
And as she turned each page
She recognized the moments they referred
Through her crying heart
She felt her daddy
Writing out, The End
The End for me, not for you Magi
Tomorrow your writing starts again
Magi's diary
Shares a life of more than memories
Love and misery
Some may say she spoke of what life means
