Soldier (feat. Pat Flynn)

Chris Greenwood, Riley Friesen

Stand your ground, soldier. Lift your head up.
You are stronger than you think bolder than you believe, smarter than you know,
And loved more than you could ever imagine

I'd rather live a life full of oh wells than a life full of what ifs.
What ifs are dreams never started?
What ifs are chances never taken? Curiosities about what it could have been like

There's no shame in the negative thoughts you're having to fight every day,
But it's what you do with those thoughts that matters.

Just because you have a thought doesn't make it yours and it doesn't make it true.
And it can be exciting, right? Like what if this works out
What if they're the one? What if this is the million dollar idea I've been looking for

But until you make that decision to put pen to paper,
Until you take that moment to put emotion in your mind, it's just a dream.

And those what ifs evolve into what happened
Where did the time go? And what if I'm too late? It's not a coincidence you're still alive to
hear these words because you were born for a purpose.
The world needs you. Your friends need you. Your family needs you.

And I know you got that thing on your mind, that one thing that you've been always telling yourself to do.
There are only so many days left and I want you to live them to your fullest.
So hear me when I say this, failing and making mistakes, it's all part of the process.
Because that fall, that oh well, that's when you learn.

There is something unique on the inside of you that only you can offer this world.
No one has the same voice print, toe print.
You are unique in the universe. Your story's not done yet. Why? Because you're still here fighting
You're still here writing your story.
So turn the page, but don't close the book. And that's when opportunities actually happen.
That's when you get smarter.

Every muscle that breaks down is rebuilt and becomes even stronger.
You are a muscle and there's no way to grow.
There's no way to flex until you go.
Because those oh wells are signals that you're getting it a shot,
That you're more than just talk, but you walk the walk too.
And yeah, you might stumble like a kid, but you get back up, you keep going.
You learn to walk and you learn to run. But what have you been running from

Right through those pains, right through the heartache and disappointment,
Write yourself into victory because you're still here.
You might not win every battle, but you will win the war
You were built to last and you can get through this.
Even though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, fear not.
Forgive yourself. Let it go. It's not your fault

Some things are just out of your control, but don't let one disappointment determine your destiny
I want you to turn around, look forward and look at all the amazing things you'll be running toward
You got this
There's only one place left to go

Up
The most successful people have known defeat
Battled their inner demons
pummeled their minds into submission

Vanquished their enemies and fought bravely until they won
And you too will find a way out
Where there seems to be no way

God will make a way
Never make the biggest decision of your life in your worst mood
You are more precious to this world than you'll ever know
So let the tears fall

Stand proud and tall
Shout and let the world know there's a fire burning on the inside of your soul
Destiny is calling
Will you answer

Stand your ground, soldier
Lift your head up
You are stronger than you think, bolder than you believe, smarter than you know
and loved more than you could ever imagine

Hold on
