king sized mattress (feat. the Iguanas) [NPR tiny desk entry]
Victoria Dearth
I sleep on a king sized mattress
In a room in my parents house
Still my beds far too big for one person
So I fill it with things till I'm left with
Room for just my head
Most nights I toss and turn
Insomnia I'm not sure
But I keep the lights on
It's the only thing that keeps me company
I used to sleep by the window
Now I sleep by the wall
I can't stand the way it's laid out
I turn on storms to drown out the sound
Of all the pretty people
Most nights I toss and turn
Insomnia I'm not sure
But I keep on the lights on
It's the only thing that keeps me company
Now I crawl over my odds and ends
I've left scattered across the bed
In an attempt to make my king sized mattress
Fit just my foggy head
