The Ballerina’s Twirl
The river was full as I rode into town
A ballerina danced from a hole in the ground
And all of the suicide children waved
'cause they saw her knife and they saw her blade
And all of the gloomy children smiled
For she was the mother of sorrow
I knocked on the door of the wooden hotel
An eyeless young man answered my call
And all of the neighbors stared and groaned
'cause they saw my hope and they saw my gold
And all of the ballerinas twirled
For they are the mothers of sorrow
I was shown to my room on the 18th floor
And a ballerina danced from a hole in the wall
Sorrow
The eyeless young man locked me in my room
As he built a ballerina from my hope and gold
And all of the eyeless children smiled
'cause they saw her dancing into my mind
And all of the ballerinas twirled
'cause they were not the only ones hypnotized
