Weather Like This
Hey there Dad I struggle to find my words but I'm trying
And everything I do I do to make you proud
I've made it this far with only pennies in my jar
Oh I've been praying
Life it shouldn't be this hard
I packed my bags with all I had and hit the road
To build a life down South a new place to call home
Not one familiar face
All I had was a little faith in myself
To create heaven out of hell
Like a sailor lost at sea
Gripping onto the wheel with this storm approaching me
I know that you've seen weather like this before, once or twice
I'm wishing you could put your feelings aside
And help me find my way
I never told bout last year that I made a board
With some goals and aspirations I'd been struggling to move forward
At the center of that list
Was my most important wish
For me and you
To build a friendship we never knew
I'm like a sailor lost at sea
Gripping onto the wheel with this storm approaching me
I know that you've seen weather like this before, once or twice
I'm wishing you could put your feelings aside
And help me find my way
Where I stand, is shaking
And I crave the solid ground that you don't know
I will run, right into your arms
If you would just reach out and hold me
I'm like a sailor lost at sea
Gripping onto the wheel with this storm approaching me
I know that you've seen weather like this before, once or twice
I'm wishing you could put your feelings aside
And help me find my way home
