Enter the Truth, Chpt. 1

I done seen a lot of things in my life comprehend
I am not the quiet little boy you knew in 2010
Heart was broken way before that though, where do I begin
This is a story of when toy soldiers turned to broken men
Let's begin

Momma grew up in a broken home, beatings every day
Grandma learned that from her momma though, had no time to play
West side of Chicago in the 70s
Danger unavoidable, Mom and auntie went to Catholic church to pray

Poppa grew up with my uncle Mar' Both born in the field
Pops was lighter, unc' was darker, didn't take much time to feel
Discrimination and the type of hatred that could get you killed
In the same way today, if police don't want to deal

Fast forward now to '96, that's when I was born
11 days after Pac was shot, Body in the morgue
Eldest son of the family, I wish I was warned
Of the dangers that this life could bring, walking through the storms

I was running out the door to see my pops when the needle dropped
Slipped up on a gumball when I heard a scream and time had stopped
Blood covered the concrete and the mud as I lay in shock
I had sliced the top of my right ear right down to my earlobe off

Momma held my head in her arms until doctors sewed it back
I still got the scar today, just to prove it, you know it's facts
That one mention can build enough tension to make your shoulder snap
Back when living on EBT and CDs had the coldest tracks

There was a moment on grandma Deola's cul-de-sac
Deep in the inner city when gritty gangsters had bold attacked
My cousin and sister outside of a family gathering
All I heard was the glass shattering, a mass avalanche of

Loud noises, loud voices igniting war
25 deep to the streets, my family storms into the thick of it
My cousin hands me off a butcher knife
And tells me to go hide under the bed and if I see 'em slice up

The enemy, as a last line of defense
I'm six years old, biding time with murderous intent
The further you get into the story, you feel the darkness
Swallow the arc whole, imparting a dark hole

Seen some things in my life, comprehend
I am not the quiet little boy you knew in 2010
Heart was broken way before that though, where do I begin
This is story of when toy soldiers turn to broken men
Let's begin, Uh

You'd do the same if you went through this type of pain
This life is full of disdain, the type that rots out your brain
In an ominous chain of apathy, so don't get mad at me for
Exposing the truth, this is just showing the proof

That's why I'm here in the booth
This is the raw and uncut
Fuck what they told you to do
I'll bring you into my world

Why you think we don't shed any tears
Or show any signs of fear
In the moments, we should be open and vulnerable
Damn

Seen some things in my life, comprehend
I am not the quiet little boy you knew in 2010
Heart was broken way before that though, where do I begin
This is story of when toy soldiers turn to broken men
Let's begin
Uh
