Glowing Embers

Sometimes the road less traveled
Leaves you stuck in the mud
Sometimes going against the grain
Only makes the valleys deeper
These glowing embers are all that's left of you and I
We can let them die or stoke them into something new
Sometimes the love burns fast
And it fades out quicker
Other times it's slow to start
And grows hotter than you dreamed
Sometimes adding fuel to the fire
Only snuffs it out
Some fire burns hot enough
Even water will make it grow
