A Change In Mantra
Pictures on my mantle, visions in my mind
Strife ain’t nothing I can’t handle, I’ma be just fine
Every breath seems like a battle on that 9-to-5
Your happiness is in the shadow of that 9-to-5
Killing yourself for the success of another man that will never encounter the stress that you understand
We can agree that there’s some bias in the system but that can’t be an excuse as to why you’re barely living
Cool with your life in part, where’s the will in you that’s driven?
Take some advantage of opportunities you’re given
Find some direction, even if you gotta pivot
Look around for clues to your chance so you don’t miss it
If everybody puts in work there’s no reason for failure
But people always tryna find a reason for rebellion
Don’t get me wrong, it has its time and place when seeking justice
But you can’t expect it if you know you can’t be trusted
So find a mirror, put in some work on your reflection
It’s never weak to ask for help and implement suggestions
Constantly tinker under your hood ‘cause we’re not perfect
There’s no growth without discomfort but in the end it’s worth it
Never be stagnant, always look for some progression
Don’t dwell on your mistakes because they’re there to teach you lessons
We gotta leave the world in good condition for our children so be conscious of the bridges you’re burning and you’re building
Divide and conquer always been their game and we accept it
Crabs in a barrel, mentally chained and we accept it
What do you want for your legacy? Put that on record
A change in mantra definitely needed in our message
You can take this how you need, no, I’m not here to hound you
I just know that when you live with excellence around you, it’s something that you’ll strive for and die to achieve
Success is only impossible if you don’t believe
Now I just hope you’re getting something out of what I’m saying
And the violin and drums bump in your speakers while it’s playing
Your head is nodding and we got you bouncing to the rhythm
That’s all well and good, just make sure you listen
Told you we on a mission
