Spelunking
Mallory Hajkas has made a breaking revolutionary find!
There I was on the edge of Lake Gearstat
Looking for the mouth of a cave
In my hands I hold a notebook and a pen
On my hat there's a mining helmet
Underneath the cliff-side
Where a cave resides
I go spelunking
For knowledge left unspoken
Mapping out the unfamiliar
I follow the tributaries
Searching for a forgotten past
I know I’m on the edge of something great
I find a hole in the limestone
I break on through to the other side
Just to find notes scrawled on the walls
Sigils that are all foreign to me
I jot them down carefully and slow
Making sure no detail is obscured or lost
And then I prepare to leave the cave
My head starts to itch and a voice fades in
I exit the cave and feel my body shake
The back of my mind says I have made a mistake
But to know of the past, you got to keep moving forward
Never give your doubt a change to sink you into the ground
Walking home, I see flashes of the past
Memories that are not of my own
A figure be worshiped by followers long gone
And a village where Kingsgear stands
I swing open the door and everything fades
The visions go black and my consciousness caves
A few hours past before I awake
No dreams or messages appear as I'm out of it
