Treacherous pain,
bitterness gained,
rigorous reign,
villainous bane,
reverence, maimed,
deliverance, feigned,
vigorous strain,
innocence drained.

Unleash the deepest pit,
this pitiful lack of progress,
trapped inside this tundra,
there's no way that I can process
the things that I have seen
and the sins that I must confess
tear away the veil because
this journey's all but success
I must have been betrayed
led astray somewhere along the way
I watched it fade to grey
but I won't walk away
that was all child's play
compared to the hell that
I'm stranded in today.

Frozen bodies upon pillars of salt
despite their preserved state
those same bodies, they rot
frigid wind causing fluids to clot
ice down to the bone
slowing heartbeats to a stop
organs fail, but they're still kept alive
nothing but their tortured
screams since the time I've arrived
no one dies and if they do
they're revived
separated in their torment
and of light they're deprived.
On the move I got to make my escape
I'll be damned if I ever suffer this fate
I start to shiver as I'm freezing alate
body heavy, feeling as if I have doubled in weight
pray for forgiveness because I want a clean slate
but the depth in which I've traveled
prayers can't penetrate
I see the devil as his chains start to break
I guess I'm setting him free
as I am taking his place.
