Sound Of Wings
Strong fingers curl around yr arms.
Pull yr hair and stroke you hard.
The heavy water calms yr alarm.
And nothing of yr fear remains.
But that suffers a sea change.
Into something wondrous and strange.
Soft hands cover over yr eyes.
And press yr ear to her cold chest.
To cradle you to sleep to sleep.
Float slowly down and come to rest.
In the numbness cold water brings.
And in yr ears the sound of wings.
