I kiss all the babies, tip my hat to the ladies
I walk off from trouble whenever I can
I like my drinking and gambling
I'm a fool about rambling'
I'm a full blooded Texan from the old Rio Grande

And I'm hotter than hellfire and brimstone
And I'm meaner than the devil's best friend
Softer than silk soap and satin sometimes
And I'm wilder than the West Texas wind

These cowboy boots are part of my roots
I was born in the center of a boxcar
And everyone knows I love a wild Texas rose
I caught the honky tonk fever in an old Texas bar
