Pouring Hot Water on the Anthills

Growing up tall and then burn do the ground
Ashes are spreading out across the clouds
?? to keep up above the sun
Far from the distant open door from which you've come

They said that everybody wants to rule the world
Instead we sit around and watch it all occur
Ignoring all the signs of what we came to see
Released now finally and given a reprieve

Pouring hot water on the anthills all the time
Finding the way that you could rationalize the crime

New things emerging as the others are replaced
Hidden from the light, let the sky absorb the waste
Declaring victory, you call out the commands
The soap's still dripping as you wash the other hand

Covered the images they didn't want you to see
Until you finally raised your head above the weeds
Creeping along, the slow, dark vessel moving by
Spilling all the scum out from inside

At present, following you every where you go
Like drops of liquid soaking through the clothes
