We know
We have heard it before
There is a certain power in words
The sentiments we express in order to feel real
But
Words are spoken
Actions are taken
Sure, you can be taken by some words - be it pretty or stirring
But they build up either way
They build something in and around you
Beware of all the words you say
To or about yourself
Police your inner monologue
And be weary
Notice your friends, how they talk
There can be pain in their voice
And all they talk about is how much
They enjoyed their forced birthday party
Listen - be and stay aware of words
Act on what you notice
You are a good, smart cookie
So beware and use all your power
To help your dearest
And yourself
One by one, the hurt will lift
From our voices
And we will sing together again
