Ghost of Me
Misery, and torment weighing heavy on today
Time keeps moving faster
I must focus. Do not stray
When your world is crashing
No! Don’t disappear
Dig down deep inside
And show them why you’re here
Life’s always going to try it’s best
To grind you down
Don’t you ever quit, submit
No! Don’t back down
They will ostracize
With hopes that you feel small
But! Once confronted
Just watch those bastards fall
Dissidence of opulence
Has led me to this place
Once an inspiration
Left me bitter, and displaced
Hear my cries
I’m breaking down
All alone in thoughts I drown
Self imposed seclusion
From a battle long since fought
Consumed, and disillusioned
I was never what I thought
This is the culmination
Of a life’s work cast aside
Destroy the dream of any man
Then slowly watch him die
Scald my pride
Deface my deeds
Leaving just a ghost of me
