In the city
Bodies pile up
Exposure and fatigue
Claim their victims
It's getting so much harder to stay warm
In the swirling wind
The snow starts to fall
I cover my face
And seek shelter
A fire
Figures huddled tightly
Shadows cast so long
So warm, so inviting
I move closer
Find my own space
Just a passing warmth
Just a flickering phase
