Her Ghost Remains
I’m in the sun
She’s in the shade
Chasing the wind
Burning the days
She wants to stay
I’d rather just sail away
I’m from the hills
She’s from the town
If she ever leaves
They’ll burn it down
Nothing can save it
God won’t send the rain
Out of mercy
And that’s something to say
Wherever she goes
Her ghost remains
Is it her soul
Or is it a stain?
No one can know
But they all wanna be
Where she’s been
Everyone’s blessed
Or everyone’s cursed
Ain’t no limbo
Around her
But either way
We form a line
On our knees
And say thanks
For the memories
And that’s something to say
