We were tangled up in
Learning what our words meant
Scattered thoughts, unkempt, and
Apologies without substance
Like one book, two pages
Same goal in different stages
You'd say to me, i hate this
But we'd repeat the basics
Playing whose fault to make it
Games of pointing fingers and blaming
I thought we'd be more the same in
The things that needed changing
But I've got some of what you're not
And you are more than what I've sought
I've died more than a few times, but
Somehow i feel more alive
