Password to My Soul
All this hate and violence
The fire uncontrolled
But if you teach them kindness
The brightness will glow
Will you practice what you preach?
Is there freedom in our speech?
Walls create divisive lines between us all
Here's my cloud of nightmares
The password to my soul
What's a mirror and what's a screen?
What you see and what you believe
Look at me, look at me
Losing touch with the rest of the world
Losing all control
I see you falling off the deep end
You're letting go
Left behind and frightened
Their blood begins to boil
Stock up on provisions
God, guns, and oil
Break glass for emergency
The broken glass of history
Set me free, set me free
The earth it shakes under my foundation
Throws me from my bed
The distant sound of a radio station
Echoes in my head
We turn to music when our hearts are filled with doubt
I hold out hope this world will right itself somehow
But this constant state of crisis leaves me frail, afraid and weakened
I try so hard to hold on, falling off the deep end
