The Inking of a Memory

Many gathered here today
Sad to be here
Whispers fill the air like fog
Flowers placed upon a box
Holy man reads
From book stamped with a cross

My mind begins to drift away
To when it's my time to reach that place

Rebuild myself from the shell of a dead man
Embrace this mask as a face till it’s mine
I'll wear your loose perceptions of what I am
Nuance i see in myself left behind
In the end all my energy released
I'll have no hand in the inking of my memory

I can hear it screaming now
Was that you there
In the bright glare of my sun?
Will my spirit float alone?
What would it take
To leave more than dust and bones?

My mind begins to drift away
To when it’s my time to reach that place

Rebuild myself from the shell of a dead man
Embrace this mask as a face till it's mine
I'll wear your loose perceptions of what I am
Nuance i see in myself left behind
In the end all my energy released
I'll have no hand in the inking of my memory

We remain to carry on
Memory bent until it's gone
All withdrawn

Rebuild myself from the shell of a dead man
Embrace this mask as a face till it's mine
I'll wear your loose perceptions of what I am
Nuance i see in myself left behind
In the end all my energy released
I'll have no hand in the inking of my memory
