The Scaveger’s Daughter
The Scavenger's daughter is the opposite of the rack
Designed to pull the body in
It links the neck, wrists and ankles together
Eventually, after worn for long periods
Crushing the bones, far lighter and smaller than the rack
It is made of steel or iron
And usually will not kill;
But cuts and abrasions caused by bone splinters
Slicing the skin sometimes get infected
And infections can mean death
I've worn myself down by thinking of things this way
I need to be free of this destruction
From everything comes something
I can dissolve, reform, return
Dissolve, redefine, return
