Mother's Arms
It's been a year since I've seen Mama
And even though we talk everyday
There's nothing like a Mother's arms to hold you
When you're living through the trials of these days
I go out walking every morning
Searching for something close to peace
It's simple as a bird perched on a wire
Or the way the winter light moves through the leaves
I wish that I had answers for my daughters
As we stumble through the looking glass of screens
And the little one keeps asking why we can't go
To see the ones we love so far away
