There’s a gladness in surrender that is found no other way
There’s a joy in giving in–fin’lly saying, “I’ll obey.”
There’s a hope that rises up in every heart as it lays down
There’s a gladness in surrender. Nowhere else can it be found

There’s a gladness in surrender to the One Who made us free
There’s a joy in willing bondage, saying, “Here, Lord, please take mе.”
There’s a hope that soars abovе the deepest fear, the darkest woe
There’s a gladness in surrender. All who follow see and know

There’s a gladness in surrender, letting go of my control
There’s a joy in calm acceptance, in the Keeper of my soul
There’s a hope just like a light that’s leading on to endless day
Ever broader, ever deeper, on the glad surrendered way
