Part of a flock
That's all I really wanted
To hang with chicks
Not be endlessly taunted
Easier said than done
The starling bird just runs
To be with its flock
But it's not
In perfect a perfect world
I imagine what I could be
If only I grew my wings
And flew
The other vanilla starlings
Seem to get it more than me
And the amber one left behind

Oh, starling bird in the limelight
Away from its pack, away from its home
Oh starling bird, thought maybe it would work

Part of a flock

And not always feel haunted
What once was a shining, radiant bird
Now is a muck and is stuck
They tell you to be brave and put yourself out there
But is it worth the risk, when you're just oh so scared
The worst mistake I've made is trusting those back there
